so gnat went thru the gate and turned left to go to Greem. the dirt road wound around the wooden fences on each side. Then the fences ended and the view opened up and you could see a patchwork of indivdual garden plots with little potting shed and a bench with each one...he took a little trail that led between the gardens..many people were busy gardening or just sitting on their bench...watching the world go by. .. . . he noticed one garden had a couple hard at work..weeding and watering the plants which looked quite robust... at the center of the space was a giant pumpkin.. their pride and joy..all of 300 pounds....
gnat>> when are we gonna get to feast on your pumpkin??
GUY>> you mean Bruce Orange?? i dont know.. i guess we keep on feeding BO until he just cant grow no mo. Then it will take 12 strong men to hoist him on their shoulders and carry him into greem ....hopefully with a jazz band leading the way.
gnat>> I volunteer for pumpkin duty if you don't mind me asking,,,, what did you do before you came to greem?
Guy>>well not much i care to say..my life had a predictable arc to it..... years later i became a religious nut.. filled a balloon with hot air and rode it up high....fear of the devil and hope for the heaven... although heaven and hellseemed a bit far fetched to me.. at the same time i was reading alot... on a vacation in Japan i was introduced to Bhuddism which i loved,,,,meditation and all that..so i read then i got into Zen and read and read and then I read the Tao Tao te Ching. (tao) the bible of Taoism tao. These were Eastern philosophies. I could see the metaphysical elements.of western religions ...where as Tao Tao had no metaphysical elements.. so I meditated and wound up here..... . . .
gnat>> 2 questions... 1/isnt it pronounced DOW instead of TAO and 2/ why do you always say the word TAO twice?????????
GUY>>i lived in a place where few mentioned the name DOW...and its spelled most times as Tao tao.. 1b////// words cant describe Tao tao so it has no fixed name in the universe 1c/// calling it Tao tao makes it new and fresh 1d////it cant confused with Dow chemical 2/sheldon on big bang theory would knock three times and call out a name and do it three times.....so it gives it a special centering vibe .. .. to repeate.it brings you into the present moment....its a special word...worthy of devotion.....
gnat>> well anyway I'm glad you made it to Greem ..... gnat continued walking till he came to his own garden patch for the first time ...it was about 300 sq feet.. . it had corn and beans and bananas and lots of other stuff... he went to the shed and got the hoe out....and began to dig up the weeds..... this went on for some time,,it was good exercise....he was enjoying being 35 again.
